FEEL, the French Evangelical Electronic Library, is a complete ministry toolbox for laymen, students, pastors, professors and missionaries in the French-speaking world.
FEEL's mission
is crucial
FEEL’s urgent mission is to bring essential theological resources
to the present and future leaders of the French-speaking church in their
need today. FEEL is an initiative to create and distribute a comprehensive
French Bible study library including fifty
key reference books in electronic format for use within Bible research
software. Where needed, FEEL will translate the best English reference
works for the first time in French.
FEEL can impact
millions
200 million French-speakers are scattered across the globe in 44
different countries. Studies show that the far reach of the French language
has made it one of the top three languages for education in the
world. French is the second of UNESCO’s publishing languages.
The French Christian
community is global: over 4 million in Europe,
over 18 million in Africa, 2 million in the
Caribbean, with more in North
& South America, Asia, the South
Pacific and the Middle East - over 27
million Christians in total.
There has been inadequate development of Christian literature resources and distribution for the French language and the French church suffers greatly from it. There are literally millions of books available to the English-speaking church. In our information age, Christian publishers are now providing thousands of English Bibles and reference books in Bible software programs. The gap between English and French resources is phenomenal and the number of needy French-speaking Christians who could benefit is overwhelming. If the body is not properly nourished it will be weak and prone to illness.
